Know: Basic technological processes and schemes Features of minerals and ores that determine their technological properties Methods of research of minerals and ores in technological mineralogy. The influence of geological and mineralogical features of ores of different genetic types on processing indicators Geological-technological assessment of ores at various stages of geological-exploration work The role of technological mineralogy in managing the quality of ores and technological processes. Be able: Independently set a research problem. Independently choose research methods depending on the task. Use the received theoretical information to interpret the received data.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Have clear ideas about the properties of minerals, genetic types of mineral deposits and methods used in the study of their elemental composition and structural features. 2. Ability to analyze and think logically.
Course content
In the process of studying the discipline, questions are considered regarding: basic technological processes and schemes of ore processing and methods of their research; features of minerals and ores that determine their technological properties; influence of geological and mineralogical characteristics of ores of different genetic types on processing indicators; geological and technological assessment of ores at various stages of geological and exploration work. The purpose of the discipline is to provide students with basic knowledge of the comprehensive assessment of the quality of ores and mineral raw materials (enrichment, manufacturability, degree of extraction of useful components, complexity of use, environmental consequences of development and processing).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, consultations, independent student work
Assessment methods and criteria
1. Semester assessment: - Control work on content module 1: max – 30, min – 18 points. The final assessment may include the results of surveys - current (during lectures) and additional (after checking the control work). - Control work from content module 2: max – 30, min – 18 points. The final assessment may include the results of surveys - current (during lectures) and additional (after checking the test work).) 2. Final assessment in the form of an exam: (compulsory exam in writing): max – 40 points, min – 24 points. The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The overall grade is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester as the sum of the points of the semester and final assessment: A student is not admitted to the final assessment in the form of an exam if he scored less than 36 points during the semester.
