1. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of forecasting the characteristics of the geological section according to seismic data.
2. Have the skills to work with a personal computer in the field of seismic inversions.
Course content
In the program of discipline (2c) attention is paid to the analysis of technologies of forecasting of geological section - seismic inversion transformations. Techniques for performing seismic inversions based on convolutional models of the geological environment, multi-attribute analysis and neural networks are considered. Acquaintance with the modern software complex of inversion transformations with application of data of geophysical researches of wells. Practical examples demonstrate the work of the apparatus of inversion transformations and geological interpretation of the obtained results.
In the (3c) focuses on mastering the basic concepts of world experience in hydrocarbon exploration and exploration, substantiation of physical and mathematical foundations of amplitude reflection analysis (AVO), study of new approaches to solving direct and inverse seismic problems, qualitative and quantitative methods. seismic data in combination with data from geophysical surveys of wells.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the module-rating system and provides: performance of practical works (where students have to demonstrate
quality of acquired knowledge and solve tasks using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher), independent practical work (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve problems without limiting tools and techniques) and conducting 5 written modular tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of written and oral tests.
