Know: main principles and methods of modeling geological systems, methods of mathematical modeling in geology, features of statistical and deterministic models for modeling geological systems, main principles and methods of laboratory modeling in geology, methods for determining the stress-strain state of natural man-made systems. Be able to: Use specialized software for modeling geological systems, determine the stress-strain state (NDS) of the rock complex in a landslide slope,
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge and skills in the field of modeling of geological processes and structures, possession of specialized software for modeling and spatial analysis of data, modeling of mineral deposits, geological and economic assessment of minerals.
Course content
The program of the discipline focuses on the concepts of models and modeling, defining the main aspects of geological models, the main principles of algorithms for mathematical modeling of geological processes and structures, analysis and determination of stress-strain state of natural and man-made systems, construction of integrated geological and geophysical models using specialized software.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Laboratory, seminar classes and independent work of the student
Assessment methods and criteria
Final evaluation in the form of a test. The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The test is evaluated with a maximum score of 20 points, the threshold score of 12 points. During the semester 2 modular tests are performed, each of which is evaluated by 20 points (limit score of 12 points). Score for work in seminars and laboratory classes - 40 points (marginal score of 36 points). During the test, the student performs test work using knowledge of spatial modeling of geological data in GIS and providing geological and economic assessment of minerals. Final evaluation in the form of credit is not mandatory, if you refuse to participate in this form of evaluation, the student will not receive the appropriate points for the final evaluation. The test is set based on the results of the student's work during the semester, as the sum (simple or weighted) of points for systematic work throughout the semester for all activities.
