Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To demonstrate an adequate level of national and foreign languages (English) mastery to perform written and spoken communication, namely in situations of professional and scientific communication; to present the results of their studies in the national and foreign languages (English).
PLO 3. To implement modern methods and techniques, namely informational, in order to perform a successful and effective professional activity and guarantee the quality of research in an applied linguistics field.
PLO 4. To assess and analyze critically the vital social, individual, and professional issues and offer tactics of their solution, in difficult and unpredictable conditions, which requires the application of new approaches and forecasting.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To be eligible for the course students should know the whole program of such mandatory courses: Theory of Translation, Fundamentals of Editing; to know the main principles of successful communication, to have basic humanitarian factual knowledge and a sufficient proficiency level in Russian which allows to understand and interpret written and spoken Russian text.
2. To be flexible using vocabulary, to know and to apply general standard spoken Ukrainian norms; to have a sufficient level of linguistic competence and language culture.
3. To have basic skills in translating Russian texts, editing already translated texts, creating complex spoken and written messages, interaction and cooperation during research works, and critical approach to analyzed phenomena.
Course content
The academic discipline consists of four parts, which include familiarization with the lexical and grammatical structure of translation of Russian language texts into Ukrainian and mastering the skills of editing written and oral translations into Ukrainian) in different styles and communicative purposes as well as deepening) knowledge of Ukrainian language culture. Course Russian-Ukrainian translation and editing include translation as a result of communication that lets us reproduce a Russian text or an oral message in Ukrainian and a culture of written and spoken language, which is necessary during editing of the translation.

The course is taught in practical classes.
At the end of the discipline, an exam is to be passed.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1 - 1.5), which is 40% of the total grade, and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills 2.1-2.2); (communication 3.1-3.2); (autonomy and responsibility 4.1-4.2), which is 60% of the total grade.
Evaluation of semester work:
1. Answers at practical classes, creative work (written/spoken text translation and editing), and written tests (tests with closed and open-ended questions).
2. Written test (test with closed and open-ended questions) and a final test.
