Learning outcomes
PLO 4. To assess and analyze critically vital social, individual and professional issues and offer tactics for their resolution, in difficult and unpredictable conditions, which require the application of new approaches and forecasting. PLO 20. To undertake pre-translation analysis of specialized texts of various styles and genres. PLO 23. To be able to plan the process of specialized interpreting and translation in accordance to the stages of a translation project. PLO 24.1. To apply appropriate strategies and tactics in the process of translating and editing medical, legal, academic and newspaper style texts.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must know: general concepts of translation studies, linguistics, stylistics; methods of language-stylistic and translation studies text analysis; peculiarities of semantics, structure and functioning of units of all levels of the Italian and Ukrainian languages; be able to: consciously determine the genre and style of the original text; apply in practice the knowledge and skills acquired in previous semesters in consecutive and oral-visual translation from the Italian and Ukrainian languages; formulate thoughts in the Ukrainian literary language; work with modern translation support programs; replenish and apply background knowledge in practice; to have elementary skills: selection, analysis and interpretation of speech facts; to adapt and withstand stress in a new situation.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is an in-depth study of the technique of consecutive translation from the Italian language into Ukrainian and from the Ukrainian language into Italian, taking into account the communicative, stylistic and cognitive features of various types of consecutive translation; learning translation cursive and the ability to rationally combine cursive with the use of long-term memory. The skills of translation cursive writing are practiced; exercises are carried out on typical translation transformations in a sequential mode, on quickly switching from one language to another, the ability to generalize, instant reaction, intuition, the ability to quickly adapt to the situation, the ability to concentrate, physical and mental endurance, memory, oratorical skills are developed abilities

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Educational activities during the semester: oral exercises and tasks, presentation of the results of independent individual work on glossaries, audio recordings of oral consecutive translations, control papers, written records using translation cursive.
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points is formed by the points (maximum number of 60 points) obtained by the student in the process of learning the material from the entire educational course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (oral translations, written notes using translation cursive, audio recordings of translations as homework) and for independent work on compiling glossaries. Final evaluation: oral-written exam: 40 points. The minimum number of points per semester is 36. The minimum number of points for the exam is 24.
