Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know: theoretical foundations, regulatory and legal principles of socio-pedagogical work with individuals, families and children in the social sphere and in the education system;
2. Be able to: determine the cause-and-effect relationships of difficulties of individuals, families with children; determine and apply appropriate forms and methods of socio-pedagogical work with them;
3. Possess basic skills: identify families and children who find themselves in situations of vulnerability, difficult life circumstances; collect, analyze information on determining cause-and-effect relationships in the emergence of clients' difficulties; provide socio-pedagogical support to children, parents (or other persons replacing them).
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquire knowledge and skills regarding the content, procedure and specifics of social support and counseling of individuals, families and children in the social sphere by higher education students, as well as the implementation of socio-pedagogical support in the education system.
The subject of the academic discipline is the content and procedure of social and socio-pedagogical support of individuals, families and children. The discipline contains two content parts. The first part reveals the theoretical, methodological and regulatory and legal principles of social support of clients in the social sphere. The second part is devoted to the content and features of socio-pedagogical support in the education system as a type of socio-pedagogical work.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, seminar, discussion, practical exercises, work with cases, guest lecture, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Applicants are assessed during all types of training sessions and based on the results of independent work.
1. Oral answers (speech at a seminar, participation in discussions, debates, additions) – 30-max / 18-min points.
2. Presentation – 20-max / 12 - min points.
3. Performance of practical work (solving cases, demonstrating practical skills, analyzing primary sources and regulatory documents) – 30-max / 18-min points.
4. Modular test work 1 and 2 –– 20-max / 12-min points.
The final assessment is carried out in the form of a credit. The credit is credited based on the results of the student's work during the semester. Obtaining a total of at least 60 points is mandatory for receiving a credit. In the case of receiving less than 60 points during the semester, but within the critical minimum of 36 points, the higher education applicant must take a test.
Rating correspondence scale:
- passed (60-100 points);
- failed (0-59 points).
