Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Solve complex problems and issues that require updating and integrating knowledge under conditions of incomplete/insufficient information and conflicting requirements. PLO 4. Demonstrate deep knowledge and systematic understanding of theoretical concepts, both in the field of social work and in other fields of socio-humanitarian sciences. PLO 6. Independently and autonomously find information necessary for professional growth, master it, assimilate and produce new knowledge, and develop professional skills and qualities. PLO 8. Make autonomous decisions in complex and unpredictable situations. PLO 17. Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses ‘General Psychology’, ‘Educational Psychology’, ‘Developmental Psychology’ and ‘Pedagogy’;knowledge of the theoretical foundations of the structure of the mind, the factors and key mechanisms involved in personality development; possession of the skills and abilities to analyse academic literature, prepare essays and presentations, and lead discussions; understanding of the nature of the main regulators of activity and behaviour within a group and the possibilities for their application when working with an academic group.
Course content
The course ‘Psychology and Pedagogy of Higher Education’ is included in the list of compulsory educational components of the National Qualifications Framework. The course content covers the theoretical and methodological foundations and the conceptual and categorical framework of the discipline, the characteristics of students as participants in educational and professional activities, and adaptation to study at higher education institutions; the specifics of student group development, and examines the psychological and methodological aspects of the lecturer’s role; the patterns of pedagogical interaction in higher education institutions as a unity of purpose, motives, actions and outcomes, as an organised system of activity.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminars, independent study, oral responses, supplementary work, participation in discussions, assessment of independent study, creative assignments, tests 1 and 2
Assessment methods and criteria
Student assessment takes place during all types of teaching sessions and is based on the results of independent work. During sessions, the following are assessed: oral responses, presentations, critical essays, practical tasks, teaching exercises, collages, creative writing assignments, and professional development programmes for future teachers. Test No. 1 is completed and assessed after the first part is finished; Test No. 2 is completed after the second part is finished and includes questions from the second part of the course. The maximum number of marks for work during the semester is 60 marks. The exam is worth 40 marks. In total, a student can achieve a maximum of 100 marks.
