Prerequisites and co-requisites
to know: the basics of psychology and pedagogy; basic patterns of personality development; theoretical foundations and principles of socio-pedagogical interaction, specific needs and interests of different age groups; and specifics of work in different micro-societies. to be able to: analyse, generalize, and correlate different aspects of social interaction, identify socio-pedagogical problems of different categories of the population; to possess: skills of self-organization, self-reflection, skills of collective interaction.
Course content
The course is aimed at developing a system of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in applying psychological-pedagogical therapy methods in the professional activity of social workers, particularly in the field of social counseling.
The course presents the theoretical and practical foundations of psychological-pedagogical therapy and its role in the professional practice of social workers and specialists in social counseling. It covers the main scientific approaches, principles, forms, types, and methods of psychological-pedagogical therapy, as well as the specifics of their application when working with different age and social groups. Special attention is paid to the use of therapeutic methods in the process of social counseling for individuals experiencing difficult life circumstances, crisis situations, the consequences of traumatic events, and wartime experiences. Considerable emphasis is placed on emotional support techniques, the development of professional reflection, empathy, and ethical interaction in the provision of social counseling assistance.

Lecture, seminar, analysis of primary sources, presentation, demonstration of skills, test assignments, case method.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral answers (Oral answer, speech at the seminar, participation in discussions, debates): 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.1, 3.2, 4.1 – 10 max / 4 min points.
Performance of practical tasks and creative works (essay, presentation, case-study, test): 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.1, 3.2, 4.1 – 20 max / 12- min points.
Demonstration off skills - 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.1, 3.2, 4.1 – 30 max / 20 min points.
Final assessment: examination.
Conditions for admission to the examination. Completion of practical assignments, oral responses, and three module assessment tests is mandatory for admission to the examination. Students who score less than the minimum required threshold of 36 points in total during the semester are not admitted to the examination.
The examination is conducted in written form. The maximum number of points for the examination is 40.
The maximum number of points that may be earned during the semester is 60, while the minimum number required is 36.
