Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know: current state of theory and practice of social work on disability issues; have basic theoretical knowledge to understand the meaning of «disability,» «special needs,» «disabilities»; theoretical foundations of social work with people with different types of disabilities; legal bases on disability issues; content and forms of work of a social worker with persons with disabilities; basic technologies of counseling social work with people with disabilities. Be able: to apply the acquired knowledge in practice when working with people with disabilities; to have practical skills in using various forms and methods of social work with people with disabilities; to assist in the implementation of resource provision of social work in interaction with people with disabilities.
Course content
Here is a polished professional English translation: the academic discipline covers the key concepts of the course, identifies the causes of disability, and outlines the foundations for developing inclusive processes in society. It also addresses the social dimension of disability, societal responses to the issue of limitation, standards of social work, and the legal framework related to disability. In addition, it examines stereotypical perceptions of persons with disabilities. A mandatory component of the course is the consideration of ethical frameworks for interaction with persons with disabilities. During the study of the discipline, students will also have the opportunity to define the role of the social worker and their responsibilities within inclusive processes. The aim of the discipline is to develop the fundamental professional competencies in the field of social work related to working with persons with disabilities, including the study of general provisions on inclusive transformations, legislative changes, and practical approaches to working with this category of clients.

Lectures, seminars, individual work
Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment methods: practical assignments for independent work; preparation of reports, seminars and practical assignments; modular test work; final assessment in the form of an exam. The form of final control is an exam. The final grade for the discipline consists of 100 points: 60 points for the module and grades for the exam (40 points). A student could not take the final test if he scored less than 36 points during the semester. The grade for the exam cannot be less than 24 points. Organization of assessment: The procedure for organizing the forms of assessment предусмотрed by the course syllabus is carried out throughout the semester through students’ completion of practical independent assignments, preparation of seminar tasks, completion of a module test at the end of the course, as well as final assessment tasks during the exam. Rating scale: 90 - 100 «excellent» 75 - 89 «good» 60-74 «satisfactory» 0-59 «fail»
