Course content
The course aims to develop professional knowledge of psychological counselling and psychotherapy with specific client populations requiring tailored approaches to psychological intervention. It focuses on understanding differences among various client presentations and selecting appropriate methodological approaches for effective practice. The course promotes a differentiated understanding of psychological assistance by examining how counselling and psychotherapy are shaped by the client’s personal context, psychopathological status, and clinical diagnosis. Students acquire knowledge of the forms of psychological support that are most effective for particular client groups and learn how to apply them in professional settings. The course also develops the ability to distinguish among common psychological concerns, enabling more comprehensive and effective psychological intervention, as well as the selection of appropriate therapeutic techniques from contemporary evidence-based approaches to psychological care.
