Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. The student must know the psychological patterns of personality formation, development, and self-development; clinical psychology; differential psychology; personality psychology; experimental psychology; and the fundamentals of psychodiagnostics. 2. The student must be able to independently apply and interpret valid and reliable personality questionnaires and projective techniques; analyze the causes and consequences of the impact of military-political events, social, informational, and cultural conditions on the individual; and analyze the peculiarities of personality formation and socialization. 3. The student must possess professional communication skills; be able to identify, analyze, and explain mental phenomena, recognize psychological problems, and propose ways to solve them.
Course content
The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge about the mechanisms of the emergence, functioning, and development of pathological mental states; the specific forms and mechanisms of disturbances of mental processes, consciousness, and self-consciousness; the characteristics of personality disorders; and the principles of organizing and conducting pathopsychological assessment, as well as preparing a pathopsychological report. The course is aimed at mastering knowledge and developing skills related to the methodological, theoretical, and applied issues of mental norm and pathology of mental development, as well as the emergence and course of pathological mental states. Considerable attention is given to the specific forms and mechanisms of disturbances of mental processes, consciousness, and self-consciousness; the characteristics of personality disorders; the principles of organizing and conducting pathopsychological assessment; and the preparation of a pathopsychological report.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment methods: analytical report, creative assignments, final written test. Form of final assessment: pass/fail credit. The pass/fail credit is awarded based on the student’s performance throughout the semester (the maximum number of points for semester work is 100) and does not require any additional assessment activities for students who have successfully completed the course requirements. Students who have accumulated fewer than 60 points during the semester, but more than the minimum threshold of 40 points, are required to take the pass/fail credit assessment. The assessment is conducted in the form of an oral examination covering the course topics and completion of an individual creative assignment, worth 20 points in total. Students who have accumulated fewer than the minimum threshold of 40 points during the semester are not admitted to the pass/fail credit assessment. Grading scale: 0–59 – fail; 60–100 – pass.
