Course content
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the design of psychological research and modern methods of mathematical statistics. Students will acquire basic concepts and skills that will enable them to construct measurement models of psychological constructs, evaluate their quality, and examine relationships between latent variables.
The course is designed for clinical psychologists who plan to conduct scientific research using modern statistical methods and to engage with contemporary international academic publications. An understanding of commonly used research designs in clinical psychology will facilitate the proper planning of scientific studies. Basic skills in modern statistical methods will enable students to assess the quality and invariance of measurement models and to conduct their own research on relationships between latent variables.

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment methods: analytical report, creative assignments, final written test.
Form of final assessment: pass/fail credit.
The pass/fail credit is awarded based on the student’s performance throughout the semester (the maximum number of points for semester work is 100) and does not require any additional assessment activities for students who have successfully completed the course requirements.
Students who have accumulated fewer than 60 points during the semester, but more than the minimum threshold of 40 points, are required to take the pass/fail credit assessment. The assessment is conducted in the form of an oral examination covering the course topics and completion of an individual creative assignment, worth 20 points in total.
Students who have accumulated fewer than the minimum threshold of 40 points during the semester are not admitted to the pass/fail credit assessment.
Grading scale: 0–59 – fail; 60–100 – pass.
