Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. know the stages of the historical and cultural process; basic ethical and philosophical concepts and categories, characteristics of the main provisions of ethical systems and the corresponding value and normative programs; the content of value and normative programs of professional and corporate behavior in the field of health care, ethical problems related to biomedical research, genetics, robotics and innovations in laboratory medicine. 2. be able to apply the basic methodology of imperative and value aspects of professional practice directly to dilemmas of professional and corporate ethics; model and solve ethical dilemmas that arise in daily laboratory practice, find adequate and scientifically sound mechanisms for ethical resolution of conflict situations, assess the impact of professional behavior on the trust of patients and colleagues. 3. have basic skills in working with consolidated information.
Course content
Introduces students to the basic conceptual and categorical apparatus of ethics, methods and tools for identifying moral issues in the context of medical diagnostics and activities. The reasons for updating and updating value principles in professional activities are emphasized, the value-normative requirements of the main ethical systems are compared with their specification in modern practices of medical diagnostics and treatment. The subject of professional and corporate ethics is considered; the difference, contradictions and the likelihood of conflict between the value-normative requirements of professional and corporate morality are examined. The features of using in-depth knowledge of legal and ethical norms when assessing the consequences of professional activities and developing practical skills/decision-making skills in the ethical behavior of specialists in dilemma situations of professional activities are clarified.
