Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the basic psychological categories applied in clinically oriented psychological disciplines at the level of a student who has completed the 2nd year of the Bachelor’s program at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. 2. Be able to use knowledge about the specifics of basic categories of pathopsychology, the main principles of a psychologist's work with patients of various ages who have mental disorders, and the patterns of disturbances in higher mental functions at the level of a Bachelor’s student at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. 3. Possess elementary skills in conducting clinical interviews at the level of a psychologist.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to form scientific understanding of the nature of the psyche, the methods and results of studying mental phenomena; to develop the ability to apply psychological knowledge in professional practice; to familiarize students with the basics of mental and neurological disorders, methods of their psychological diagnosis and correction, the role of psychologists in psychiatric hospitals, and to determine the significance of intellectual, emotional-volitional defects, and personality disorders for psychology, as well as to reveal their place in the system of psychological knowledge.

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment is conducted according to a modular-rating system. Semester assessment includes: Final control work: max. 12 points. Assessment of independent work: keeping notes, maintaining a glossary of terms: max. 48 points. The final assessment is in the form of an exam. The maximum number of points a student can earn during the semester is 60 points, and for the exam, it is 40 points on a 100-point scale. The examination format is written, and the type of tasks is a test. The minimum threshold score for passing the exam is that the exam grade cannot be less than 20 points. Conditions for admission to the exam: A student is not allowed to take the exam if they have earned less than 36 points during the semester. A student is admitted to the assessment provided they have completed 50% of the tasks outlined in the syllabus.
