Course content
The goal of the discipline is to provide students with an in-depth introduction to modern methods of linguistic analysis and to develop a holistic understanding of the diverse approaches to linguistic research algorithms and their corresponding tools. The subject matter of the discipline includes the evolution of perspectives on the subject and object of modern linguistics, methodologies for researching linguistic and speech materials, and the terminological apparatus of modern linguistics in its referential links with mathematics, logic, sociology, political science, and other fields. It also covers modern types of linguistic analysis prompted by the shift in the general scientific paradigm toward synergetics and multidisciplinarity, which enables the identification and resolution of key problems in this field of linguistic research from both practical and theoretical perspectives. Furthermore, the course provides a detailed analysis of various scientific paradigms, specifically the comparative-historical (genetic) paradigm, the structuralist (taxonomic) paradigm, the communicative-functional (pragmatic) paradigm, the cognitive-discursive paradigm, and the synergetic paradigm.
