Learning outcomes
PLO 8. Evaluate historical achievements and the latest achievements of literary studies. PLO 10. Collect and systematize linguistic, literary, folklore facts, interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres. PLO 11. Carry out scientific analysis of linguistic, speech and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, formulate generalizations based on independently processed data. PLO 16. Use specialized conceptual knowledge from the field of Hindi philology to solve complex tasks and problems that require updating and integrating knowledge, often in conditions of incomplete/insufficient information and conflicting requirements.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastery of the professional disciplines "Linguistics and Regional Studies of India", "History of Hindi Literature (Ancient and Classical Periods)"; 2) knowledge of the features of phonetics, vocabulary and grammar of the modern Hindi language, obtained from a practical course of the Hindi language.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to familiarize students with the best examples of modern prose and poetic works of the Hindi-speaking world through their socio-cultural reading and literary analysis, to provide an idea of ​​the development of the modern literary process in India, its features and characteristic features, the development of literary and critical thought in the Hindi-speaking region at the present stage, and to outline the place of modern Indian literature in the system of world literature. Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars. The discipline ends with a test in the first semester, and an exam in the second semester.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Educational activities: seminars, oral answers, discussions, testing, modular tests, preparation of essays and presentations, independent work, test and exam. Teaching methods: verbal (discussions, argumentation), visual (presentations), practical (exam tasks), research (work with literature) and control method (tests, modules).
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment (36–60 points) consists of classroom work (answers, tests) and independent work (presentations, essays). Absence from classes requires making up. To pass, you must score at least 60 points. If the amount is less, the student must eliminate the debt by writing independent works on the missed topics. The credit is issued based on the results of the semester without additional measures.
