The discipline is designed to acquaint students with prose works written in Hellenistic Koine by representatives of philosophy, historiography, rhetoric, geography, and medicine, as well as poetic works of Hellenistic comedy, epigram, and "minor genres," focusing on the linguistic, stylistic, and cultural characteristics of their discourse. The course examines the morphological, syntactic, and rhetorical features of Hellenistic Koine texts and analyzes their profound influence on Byzantine literature and European literature as a whole.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Oral response, contribution to discussion, participation in debate, open-ended written test, creative assignment (essay, presentation), final assessment (multiple-choice test).
Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment is based on a 100-point scale (minimum 60 points), encompassing in-class performance, independent creative assignments, and a final test. Oral responses and written tests are evaluated based on completeness, quality of argumentation, and use of specialized literature: ranging from maximum points for deep, comprehensive topic coverage to minimum points for superficial or fragmented knowledge. Participation in discussions is rewarded for constructive contributions. Creative assignments must demonstrate independent research and reliability of findings. The final test is considered successful if more than 60% of the questions are answered correctly. The final grade is awarded based on performance throughout the semester and does not require additional assessment for students who have reached the passing threshold. Students with a total score below 60 points must clear their academic arrears by completing independent assignments, creative projects, or additional written work.
