Recommended or required reading and other learning resources/tools
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is delivered through a combination of lectures, seminars, and independent study. Lectures provide a structured overview of the evolution of scientific knowledge, the development of the scientific worldview, interdisciplinary perspectives, and key contemporary scientific concepts. Seminars focus on the critical reading and discussion of scientific and philosophical texts, the interpretation of core concepts, and the exploration of major epistemological issues. Teaching draws on a range of approaches, including analytical, problem-based, discussion-led, and case-study methods. Independent study involves engagement with academic sources, as well as the preparation of essays, presentations, and small-scale projects, supported by the use of digital resources. Assessment is based on tests, written assignments, and oral presentations, alongside continuous and final evaluation, with an emphasis on interactive formats such as group work and class discussion.
Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment is conducted continuously throughout the semester in accordance with the specified types of coursework and forms of evaluation. The final form of assessment is a pass/fail credit. The credit is awarded on the basis of the student’s overall performance during the semester and does not involve any additional assessment procedures. Students who achieve the minimum passing threshold of 60 points receive a “pass,” while those who score below 60 receive a “fail.” Students who do not meet the minimum requirement must complete the outstanding topics by submitting additional assignments, essays, or, if necessary, a written test.
