Learning outcomes
PLO 8. Work effectively with information: select the necessary information from various sources, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize. PLO 10. Know the norms of literary language and be able to apply them in practical activities. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the state and English languages ​​and two Western European languages. PLO 12. Analyze language units, determine their interaction and characterize language phenomena and processes that determine them.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastery of the second language (French) courses taught in the educational program for 6 semesters. To get acquainted with the functional styles of modern French and Ukrainian languages. Be able to use stylistic resources of vocabulary and grammar. Be able to distinguish and apply wordplay, neologisms, colloquial words and jargon, means of expressive syntax. And also to have the skills of linguistic and intercultural communication, to know historical and culturological realities; to have the basics of the comparative method; to be able to work with didactic and audio-visual materials; to independently process language material; to have the basics of modern bibliographic culture.
Course content
The discipline "Second Language (7th semester)" is a mandatory discipline for students studying in the educational program "English Studies and Two Foreign Languages ​​(language of instruction English)", which is taught in the 7th semester in the amount of 2 credits, a total of 60 hours, of which: 30 hours of practical classes, 30 hours of individual work. The form of semester assessment is an exam. The normative academic discipline is aimed at mastering vocabulary on the topics specified in the work program, improving listening comprehension of authentic texts, reading and writing skills, as well as language production at the B2(+) level.

Assessment methods and criteria
The semester final grade is formed by the points received by the student during the semester and the points received on the exam - a minimum of 60 points, a maximum of 100 points, of which for the semester - a maximum of 60 points, a minimum of 36; for the answer on the exam - a maximum of 40 points; a minimum of 24. If the student scored less than 24 points on the exam (60% of the 40 points allocated for the exam), then they are not added to the semester grade, regardless of the number of points received during the semester, and "unsatisfactory" is displayed on the report card according to the national scale.
