Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of courses in practical interpreting and translation, as well as British and American cultural studies.
2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of translation into English and vice versa.
3. Proficiency in written and oral translation, English language proficiency at a level no lower than C1/C2, and the ability to skillfully apply translation techniques.
Course content
The course develops students’ basic translation skills from and into English, enables them to enhance their professional competencies in translating audiovisual material, and teaches them to apply lexical and grammatical translation strategies using practical examples to ensure the accuracy of the translation, and focuses on the differences in key translation strategies when working with audiovisual material.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is delivered with the help of such activities as oral reports and written tests. The teaching methods are lectures, practical classes (seminars), creative and research projects, students’ individual work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: • the maximum number of points during the semester is 80 points, • analytical multimedia presentations: PLO 1.1–1.2, 2.1–2.2, 3.1-3.2 – 80 points • the maximum number of points for the control work – 20 points, • PLO 1.1–3.2 is estimated
