Have a command of English at a level no lower than B2; be able to apply acquired knowledge and skills in simulated situations.
Course content
This course offers a comprehensive exploration of contemporary translation theories and aims to bridge the gap between traditional translation methodologies and rapidly evolving digital tools that are shaping the future of the translation industry. It begins with a historical perspective, tracing the development of key translation theories from classical approaches to modern models. Particular emphasis is placed on theoretical paradigms such as equivalence, functionalism, scope theory, and cultural approaches to translation.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities during the semester: • Lectures, discussions; • oral answers in practical classes; • additions, participation in the discussion; • modular control work.
Assessment methods and criteria
The form of final assessment is an exam. The semester grade is determined by the points earned by the student throughout the semester. The overall grade for the semester consists of points earned for in-class work (oral responses, tests) and for independent work (research and creative projects). For the semester, a student can earn a minimum of 36 points and a maximum of 60 points. Accordingly, the exam is worth a minimum of 24 points and a maximum of 40 points.
