Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
forming basic knowledge of the organisation and functioning of tourism enterprises in the national economy. The course aims to develop students' competence in understanding the regulatory and legal framework of tourism activities in Ukraine; the specifics of registering and managing various types of tourism enterprises in the tourism industry, contractual relations between entities in the tourism market, the ability to plan and forecast the activities of tourism enterprises, and analyse key economic indicators of business units in the tourism sector.
Course content
The academic discipline ‘Economics of Tourism Enterprises’ is aimed at developing students' knowledge and skills necessary for effective management of economic processes in the field of tourism. The course covers the main aspects of the economics of tourism enterprises, including the specifics of financial planning, budgeting, cost and income accounting, and resource management. Students will examine the specifics of the tourism market, the basics of pricing for tourism services, types of expenses and their impact on the profitability of tourism companies. The programme also includes an analysis of factors that affect the competitiveness of an enterprise and ways to minimise risks in the tourism industry. Studying this discipline will help future tourism professionals understand the economic aspects of a tourism enterprise's operations and gain practical knowledge for making management decisions.
