Learning outcomes
Collect, process and analyze information in the field of Earth sciences.
Use professional Ukrainian language orally and in writing.
Use information technologies, cartographic and geoinformation models in the field of Earth sciences.
Justify the choice and use field and laboratory methods for the analysis of natural and anthropogenic systems and objects.
Be able to conduct research on the geosphere using quantitative methods of analysis.
Analyze the composition and structure of the geosphere using the cartographic method at different spatial and temporal scales.
Organize and summarize materials from field and laboratory research.
Be able to communicate the results of activities to a professional audience and the general public, make presentations and reports.

Course content
The curriculum of the academic discipline consists of the following content modules:
1) Creation of nature maps as a method of scientific knowledge.
2) Theoretical foundations of geographical mapping of nature.
3) Sectoral mapping of nature.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Total volume 150 hours, including: lectures – 42 hours, laboratory classes – 28 hours, independent work – 76 hours, consultations – 4
Assessment methods and criteria
− current (semester) assessment (laboratory (minimum score 20, maximum 40; tests (6 – 10); independent work (5 – 10));
− final (final) assessment in the form of an exam (grade for theoretical knowledge (minimum 12, maximum 40 points).
For students who scored a total of fewer points than the critical-calculated minimum – 35 points, in order to be admitted to the final control form, it is mandatory to pass an additionally completed individual complex task.
