Learning outcomes
LO3. Apply modern methods and technologies, including information technologies, to successfully and effectively carry out professional activities and ensure the quality of scientific research in the field of Turkish philology.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know: major recent scholarly works in the field of translation; the theoretical foundations and practical methods and techniques of translation; the history of translation, its classification, translation strategies, and the meaning of key concepts in various models.
2. Be able to: apply acquired professional knowledge in practice, particularly during communication and translation; apply acquired skills when communicating in Turkish.
3. Possess the skills to: prepare and adapt texts in various styles; use necessary sources of reference for translation.
Course content
The course “Specialized Translation (Turkish)” is an elective course included in Elective Block 2, “Translation Studies.” The course is designed to explore the specifics of translating texts from various fields of knowledge and disciplines, as well as practical methods in the field of translation, and to develop the professional competence of future translators. During the course, students work with texts from economic sectors that are critical to Ukraine’s current economic realities and hold promise for economic relations between Ukraine and Turkey, namely: medicine (including medical tourism), energy, construction, military topics, textile manufacturing, and agriculture.
Course Structure: Classes are conducted as practical sessions. The course is organized into 4 thematic blocks, each focusing on texts from different sectors, and concludes with an exam. Throughout the course, students study a range of methods that future professional translators will apply when translating texts in specific fields, and various aspects of translation are examined. The course is designed to equip future professionals with the necessary skills and competencies to translate texts in six fields and specializations, as well as to expand their relevant vocabulary: medicine (including medical tourism), energy, construction, and military topics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge), which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and the assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills), which accounts for 60% of the total grade.
1. Written translation with the use of dictionaries and Internet resources: 12 - 20 points.
2. Oral response (interpretation): 6 - 10 points.
3. Translation of the proposed video material and editing of texts: 6 - 10 points.
4. Control work: 12 - 20 points.
5. Exam: 24 - 40 points.
