Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge:
- Turkish at a level no lower than B2;
- successful completion of the course “Modern Turkish Linguistics.”
Be able to:
- analyze theoretical material;
- identify, systematize, and summarize the information obtained;
- plan, organize, conduct, and present scientific theoretical and applied research in the field of Turkish philology.
Course content
The course “Contemporary Discourse Studies of Turkey” is designed to develop and enhance the research competencies of second-year Master’s students majoring in “No. 035 Philology” 035.068 "Philology (Eastern Languages and Literatures (including translation), first language—Turkish), which consist of the ability to analyze, compare, and classify various trends and approaches to discursive studies in contemporary Turkish linguistics.
The course “Contemporary Discursive Studies of Turkey” is an elective component of the educational and research program “Eastern Philology, Western European Language and Translation: Turkish Language and Literature”; level of higher education: second (3rd semester; total – 90 hours, including 12 hours of lectures, 10 hours of seminars, and 68 hours of independent study).
The course syllabus consists of 2 content modules. Instruction is conducted in the form of lectures and seminars. The course concludes with an exam.

Assessment methods and criteria
The semester final grade is formed by the points obtained by the student during the semester (semesters - if there are 2 parts) and the points obtained at the exam, the maximum distribution is carried out according to the following algorithm: 60 points (60%) - semester control and 40 points (40%) - exam).
Assessment of semester work:
1. Answer at the seminar: 10-15 points.
2. Supplements: 2-5 points.
3. Modular control work: 6-10 points.
4. Exam: 24 - 40 points.
