Course content
This course, “Contemporary Trends in the Development of Crimean Tatar Literature,” introduces students to a wide range of cutting-edge methodologies in literary studies that emerged and developed between the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The course focuses on the examination and application of hermeneutic methodology, as well as tracing the influence of poststructuralist analysis, psychoanalysis, and gender studies (including feminist and masculinist discourses) on the formation of Crimean Tatar literature. The aim of the course is to familiarize students with current aspects of modern literary studies that pertain to and influence Crimean Tatar literature. The course aims to help students develop an understanding of various methods of literary research, taking into account different contexts: regional, all-Ukrainian (including the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea), and international. The course curriculum consists of two content modules. Classes are conducted in the form of lectures and seminars. The course concludes with a final exam in the fourth semester.
