Course content
«Off-campus (translation) internship (Crimean Tatar language)» is an integral part of the professional training for second-year master’s students. The Institute of Philology provides the main organizational and academic support, while the Department of Turkology is the unit directly responsible for planning and implementing the internship. Second-year master’s students complete a bilingual translation internship in the Crimean Tatar language during the third semester at designated institutions, including: the «Crimean Family» public organization for displaced persons, the printing company «Master of Books», and the Crimean Tatar Center of the Institute of Philology at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The heads of the internship sites and authorized faculty members of the department are responsible for organizing the process. In the event of illness or other valid reasons, students have the right to reschedule their internship without interrupting their studies, and translations completed at the university’s request may also be credited based on the results of the work. The individual work plan includes six types of assignments. Two of them are for on-campus students, and four are for distance learners. The translation areas covered by this internship are as follows: 1) written translation - linguistic and cultural studies, academic, literary, media; 2) oral translation - arts/journalism (reportage as a genre). Duration: 6 weeks (according to the curriculum of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology).
