The course is both theoretical and practical in nature and helps future philologists develop the practical skills in text analysis necessary for their future professional careers. The content of this course, first, provides future specialists with knowledge of contemporary trends in literary studies; second, encourages higher education students to rethink the place of Turkic literatures in the world, and third, provides an opportunity to broaden the scope of future philologists’ activities by applying the acquired knowledge and skills.
The course curriculum consists of two content modules. Classes are conducted in the form of lectures and practical sessions. The course concludes with a final exam.
