Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know:
1) the basic principles of psychology and foreign language teaching methodology;
2) the main categories of the theoretical framework of psychology and teaching methodology.
Be able to:
1) apply basic and professionally oriented knowledge of the fundamentals of philology, history, sociology, and cultural studies;
2) apply acquired knowledge in practice.
Possess basic skills in:
1) cognitive and professional activities;
2) the culture of thinking and its general principles;
3) the Turkish language at a level sufficient to meet communicative needs and to analyze information regarding Turkish language teaching methodologies in Turkey.
Course content
The course “Methods of Teaching Turkish” is a core academic course designed to train Turkish language teachers, encourage research and methodological activities among master’s students, and enhance the quality of teacher education. The course aims to equip students with theoretical approaches to teaching methodology as a branch of pedagogical science, the implementation of modern principles for organizing the foreign language learning process, the patterns and characteristics of foreign language learning in higher education, as well as the goals, content, methods, and teaching aids; developing skills for conducting methodologically sound Turkish language classes, as well as methods, techniques, and means of teaching the language in higher education. The course program consists of two content modules per semester. The course concludes with a final exam.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, an assessment of theoretical training, which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and an assessment of practical training, which accounts for 60% of the total grade.
Assessment of semester work:
1. Work in practical classes: 10 - 30 points.
2. Creative and research tasks: 20 - 30 points.
3. Module tests №1: 8 - 10 points.
4. Module tests №2: 8 - 10 points.
5. Final control work: 14 - 20 points
