Course content
Course Objective: To develop in Master’s students an understanding of the linguistic scientific paradigms of the second half of the 20th century to the first quarter of the 21st century, and to enhance their ability to freely and independently apply acquired knowledge in the analysis of linguistic approaches and various units of the Ukrainian language. Within the structural and logical framework of the educational program, this course belongs to the block of theoretical linguistics and forms part of its research component. The subject of the course is the development of Ukrainian linguistics from the second half of the 20th century to the first quarter of the 21st century, as well as the research principles of the paradigmatic space of contemporary linguistics. The course aims to analyze modern scientific paradigms and present the Ukrainian language within each of them. It introduces both traditional linguistic disciplines and newer fields that have become prominent in recent decades, including linguomethodology, ethnolinguistics and linguoculturology, semasiology, linguistic semiotics and onomasiology, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, cognitive linguistics, text linguistics, media linguistics, communicative linguistics, and applied linguistics (translation studies, terminology studies, computational linguistics, corpus linguistics, and neurolinguistics).
