Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To have deep knowledge of the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages for the written and oral communication purposes, professional and scientific communication in particular; to present research results in the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages.
PLO 10. To collect and systematise linguistic, literary and folklore facts, to interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres (depending on the specialisation elected).
PLO 14. To create, analyze and edit texts of different styles and genres.
PLO 21. To apply knowledge and skills necessary to ensure adequate written and oral Persian-Ukrainian two-way translation in various sectors of the economy and human life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of Persian grammar and vocabulary at a professional level (from the course "Persian for Professional Communication");
Knowledge of the main theoretical positions, specifics and problems of translation studies as a science;
Ability to apply translation transformations in practice and use search engines and catalogs of information resources on the Internet
Course content
The purpose of the academic discipline is to develop translation skills and abilities for written and oral two-way translation of medical texts.
The academic discipline "Medical Translation (Persian)" is aimed at developing written and oral translation skills from Persian into Ukrainian and vice versa within the medical field using an active stock of medical vocabulary and phraseology, free operation of grammatical models and basic translation transformations.
The academic discipline is an educational component of the elective block "Industrial Translation". The course provides for two content parts. Classes are held in the form of practical classes, independent work is provided - reading texts in the original language, oral and written translation of medical texts. The discipline ends with an exam.

Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, the following types of work are evaluated: Oral answers: up to 20 points (4 lessons of 5 points each). Test tasks: 10 points. Written work: 10 points. Modular tests: 20 points (2 works of 10 points each). Criteria: 100% of correct answers in tests or a full, reasoned disclosure of the topic using literature is evaluated with the maximum score. The minimum threshold for admission to the exam is 36 points. Final control: Exam (max. 40 points) The exam includes written bilingual translation of medical texts and oral consecutive translation. 40–35 points: full mastery of the material, correct interpretation of the results. 24 points: minimum positive score for the exam. The overall score is given on a 100-point scale: 90–100 — excellent, 75–89 — good, 60–74 — satisfactory.
