Learning outcomes
PLO 10. To collect and systematise linguistic, literary and folklore facts, to interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres (depending on the specialisation elected). PLO 11. To carry out the scientific analysis of linguistic, speech and literary material, to interpret and structure it according to the relevant methodological principles, to generalise information on the basis of independently processed data. PLO 20. To apply knowledge of the modern political Arabic discourse in the Orient countries.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastery of the professional disciplines "Linguistics and Regional Studies of Arab Countries", "Introduction to Oriental Philology", "Theory and Methodology of Arabic Translation", "Arabic Language for Professional Communication"; Knowledge of the features of phonetics, vocabulary and grammar of modern standard Arabic, obtained from a practical course of Arabic; Knowledge of linguistic terminology and basic laws of language development (from the course "Fundamentals of Linguistics").
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to familiarize students with the features of modern political Arabic-language discourse and its lexicon; to consolidate knowledge of speech skills in mastering modern standard Arabic in the process of communication on socio-political topics.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning takes place in the form of interactive lectures and seminars. Independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of mastering the material from the entire academic course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (which synthesizes and independent work on the processing of theoretical material in preparation for the classroom: oral answers, additions, presentation defense) and for independent work (preparation of an essay). All types of work for the semester have a total of: - in the maximum dimension - 100 points, - in the minimum dimension - 60 points. In case of absence from a seminar class, the student must complete the assignment for the seminar. Final assessment: credit.
