Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before completing an assistantship, first-year master's students of the educational programs "Oriental Philology, Western European Language and Translation: Arabic Language and Literature / Hindi Language and Literature / Persian Language and Literature" must take the following courses: "Higher School Pedagogy and Pedagogical Skills of a Teacher", "Higher School Psychology", "Methodology of Teaching Arabic (Hindi, Persian) in Higher Education". Master's students must master the terminology and methodological apparatus of these disciplines, know the theoretical foundations of teaching Eastern languages in higher education institutions, ways of forming Oriental language competencies and competencies of Oriental studies students, be able to apply modern methods of teaching Eastern languages, create teaching and methodological materials and plan classes in Eastern languages at different stages of study.
Course content
The purpose of assistant practice is to form in masters, based on the theoretical knowledge obtained in professional disciplines, pedagogy, psychology, and methods of teaching an oriental language in higher education, practical skills and abilities in modern conditions of work of a higher educational institution; awareness of the professional significance of this knowledge; mastery by masters of modern methods and techniques of preparation and conducting lectures, seminars and practical classes in the specialty; fostering the desire to systematically update and improve the acquired knowledge, and to creatively apply it in practical activities.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
There are four parts of assistant’s practical activity: 1. Participation in the setting conference, acquaintance with the scientific and methodological literature of the language centers in the Department of Languages and Literatures of the Middle East, curriculum, working programs of teachers of the department, attending lectures, seminars and practical classes of teachers of the department. Preparing individual work plan. 2. Approval by the supervisor of the practical activity of the individual plan of the student and topics of practical (seminar) lectures. Preparation for classes. Delivering 5-6 test lectures. 3. Writing two detailed plans-synopsis of practical (seminar) classes, holding two test classes in the specialty. 4. Registration of documentation and report on the results. Defense of the practice.
Assessment methods and criteria
Control: intermediate (after 2 weeks) and final differentiated test.
Evaluation criteria:
Excellent: perfect knowledge, high-quality classes, timely reporting.
Good: sufficient level, minor errors in notes.
Satisfactory: weak skills, errors, delayed reporting.
Unsatisfactory: unpreparedness, lack of defense (repeated practice).
