Learning outcomes
PLO10. Know the norms of literary language and be able to apply them in practical activities. PLO11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the state, Vietnamese and French languages. PLO14. Use Vietnamese and French in oral and written form, in different genre-style varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. PLO22. Carry out multi-disciplinary bilateral Vietnamese-Ukrainian translation.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses "Vietnamese Language: Advanced Level", "Fundamentals of Translation Theory", "Fundamentals of Translation Practice", "Practice of Vietnamese Translation". Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of translation from Vietnamese. Advanced level of Vietnamese vocabulary and grammar. Ability to formulate and express thoughts in Vietnamese and Ukrainian in accordance with the communicative intention.
Course content
The academic discipline “Diplomatic Translation (Vietnamese Language)” is included in the list of elective disciplines within the elective block 2 “Vietnam Studies. Industry Translation”. The course program is aimed at developing students’ skills in translating various texts in the diplomatic sphere. The discipline also introduces students to the peculiarities of diplomatic etiquette, in particular Vietnam and Ukraine, which are necessary for a translator in this field. The purpose of the discipline is to form in students professional competencies in the field of translating texts in the field of diplomacy, taking into account their specifics, communicative purpose and diplomatic etiquette.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the acquired material, in particular, theoretical training, which is 40% of the total grade, and practical training, which is 60% of the total grade. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom work and for independent work; in total: in the maximum dimension 60 points, in the minimum dimension 36 points. The discipline ends with an exam, the exam is held in the form of a written work, which is estimated at a maximum of 20 points, as well as an oral part in the form of an oral consecutive or abstract translation, which is estimated at 20 points. The assessment criteria are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
