Course content
The academic discipline “Fundamentals of Vietnamese Translation Theory” is the first part of the comprehensive discipline “Theory and Practice of Vietnamese Translation”. The course provides the basics of translation theory with an emphasis on issues for the Vietnamese language, analyzes the features of the linguistic levels of the Vietnamese language for translation into Ukrainian. Considerable attention is paid to the characteristics of translation transformations.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, including theoretical training, which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and practical training, which accounts for 60% of the total grade. The number of semester points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom work and for individual work; in total: in the maximum dimension 60 points, in the minimum dimension 36 points. Final assessment: exam. The criteria for semester assessment and the criteria for exam assessment are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
