PRN 8. Know and understand the language system, general properties of literature as art of words, history of Arabic/Hindi/ Persian language and literature, and to be able to apply this knowledge in the professional activity PRN 13. Analyze and interpret Ukrainian and Arabic/Hindi works /Persian fiction and oral literature folk creativity, to define them specificity and place in the literary process Arab countries / India / Iran and Ukraine. PRN 16. Know and understand basic concepts, theories and concepts of the chosen philological specializations, to be able to apply them in professional activity.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before mastering or studying the course "Ancient Literature", a student must know: - general information about the historical and cultural context of antiquity, - defining features of the ancient worldview and its artistic embodiment in works of art; formed in the school course on the subjects "Foreign Literature" and "World History".
Course content
The goal of the discipline is to form an idea about the genesis and evolution of ancient literature (the literature of Ancient Greece, Hellenistic literature, and the literature of Ancient Rome); to reveal the artistic and philosophical specificity of the ancient literary tradition and its progressive influence on subsequent literary eras.

Lectures, seminars. Independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final work consists of tests and open-ended questions (max. 20, min. 12 points). The form of control is a credit, which is issued based on the results of the semester. To be "passed", you need to score at least 60 points. Students with a lower score must eliminate the debt through independent or test work on the relevant topics. Additional assessment measures are not provided for in the credit.
