Learning outcomes
PLO 7. Understand the main problems of philology (in particular in the field of Arabic studies) and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PLO 15. Carry out linguistic and special philological analysis of Arabic-language texts of various styles and genres. PLO 16. Know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of Arabic studies, be able to apply them in professional activities. PLO 17. Collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them to solve complex tasks and problems in specialized areas of professional activity or study. PRN 19. Have the skills to participate in scientific and applied research in the field of philology.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastery of the professional disciplines "Linguistics and Regional Studies of the Arab East", "Arabic Language: Basic Course". Knowledge of linguistic terminology and basic laws of language development (from the course "Introduction to Linguistics").
Course content
The purpose of the academic discipline is to familiarize students with the body of knowledge regarding the content and main tasks of Arabic philology as one of the Arabistic disciplines, to form a general idea of ​​the methodology and current state of research in this field, and to help them master special terminology.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities comprise interactive lectures and seminar classes. Self-study.
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of mastering the material from the entire academic course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (which synthesizes and independent work on the processing of theoretical material in preparation for the classroom: oral answers, supplements, tests, presentation defense) and for independent work (preparation of a presentation). All types of work for the semester have a total of: in the maximum dimension - 100 points, in the minimum dimension - 60 points. In case of absence from a seminar class, the student must work out the assignment for the seminar. Final assessment: exam.
