Learning outcomes
PLO 8. To know and understand the structure of the language, the general characteristics of literature as a verbal art, and the history of the Persian language and literature, and to be able to apply this knowledge in professional practice. PLO 10. To know the norms of the literary lang. and be able to apply them in practical activities. PLO 11. To know the principles, technol. and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the national and foreign (Persian and English) languages. PLO 18. To have skills in managing complex actions or projects when solving complex problems in the professional field activities in the field of Iranian studies, as well as translation activities, and to be responsible for making decisions in the unpredictable conditions. PLO 20. To demonstr. basic knowledge of translation theory, basic theoretical and practical problems of translation studies in the aspect of a specific pair of languages (Pers and Ukr).

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses “Persian Language: Intermediate Level,” “Introduction to Persian Philology,” “Fundamentals of Persian Translation Theory,” “Fundamentals of Persian Translation Practice,” and “Iranian Linguistic and Cultural Studies.” Knowledge of the principles of rhythmic segmentation of the sound stream and grammatical phenomena; mastery of the rules for the written representation of sounds and sound combinations in the Persian language; sufficient command of lexical and phraseological material.
Course content
The aim of the course is to provide students with a general understanding of the functional and stylistic varieties of commercial and economic language, the linguistic and cultural factors involved in translating commercial and economic texts, familiarizing them with the types of commercial and economic texts and their classification, as well as developing the skills and competencies necessary for translation practice to perform written and oral translation. The course enables students, by refining their previously acquired knowledge of translation theory and their practical application skills, to master the mechanisms of translating relevant texts and learn to correctly select translation strategies during the translation process. The course “Translation of Persian-Language Economic and Commercial Texts” is part of the elective course cluster “Iranian Studies: Linguistic Studies and Translation.” Instruction takes the form of practical classes and includes independent study. The course concludes with a final exam.

Assessment methods and criteria
40% of the grade is based on theoretical training, and 60% on practical training. Semester assessment includes: Oral responses and discussions: evaluation of the soundness of arguments and depth of knowledge (max. 20 points). Written assignments and tests: assessment of the accuracy of topic mastery (max. 20 points). Research paper / Presentation: assessment of independence and reliability of research (max. 20 points). Module exams: two exams summarizing the stages of learning (20 points total). Final exam: comprehensive assessment of knowledge for the semester (max. 20 points).Grading criteria5 points (oral) / 10 points (tests/module exams): complete mastery of the material, no errors, independence. 3–4 points (oral) / 6–9 points (tests/modular exams): sufficient level of knowledge, but with minor inaccuracies or lack of argumentation. 1–2 points (oral) / 1–5 points (tests/modular exams): fragmentary knowledge, unsatisfactory level of preparation.
