PTR 8. To know and understand the Russian language system and history, and to be able to use this knowledge in professional activities. PTR 13. Analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and foreign fiction, determine their specificity and place in the literary process.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) knowledge of the Ukrainian language at a sufficient level; 2) the ability to verbally and in writing formulate one's own thoughts and judgments about works of art; 3) mastery of the skills of working with texts in the Ukrainian language and scientific literature.
Course content
"Introduction to Literary Studies" is a component (Part 1) of the complex discipline "Literary Studies", which belongs to the cycle of mandatory disciplines of the OP "Ukrainian Language and Translation (for foreigners)" and is taught in the 3rd semester of the bachelor's degree. The academic discipline involves the study of key aspects of literary studies, in particular the specifics of literary creativity, its functions, poetics, genres and literary trends. The course is aimed at foreign students mastering the skills of analyzing a literary work.

Educational events: Lectures, seminar classes, independent work. Methods of work: Information and communication method, method of problem presentation. Interactive and communicative methods. Search and partial search methods. Methods of observation, comparison, generalization.
