PTR 8. Know and understand the system of language, the general properties of literature as an art, the history of the language (s) and literature (s) being studied, and be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities.
PTR 13. Analyze and interpret the works of Ukrainian and foreign fiction and oral folklore, determine their specificity and role in the literary process.

Mastery of the Ukrainian language at a level sufficient to listen to lectures and work in practical classes.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to develop Ukrainian speaking skills, which is a necessary prerequisite for the formation of professional Ukrainian-language communicative competence of foreign students. The academic discipline is a mandatory discipline for first-year foreign students. It is designed to develop Ukrainian speaking skills in students. Thanks to this discipline, students will be able to freely navigate in the field of professional activity and social and everyday life with representatives of Ukrainian and other cultures and peoples.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities: practical classes, independent work.
Methods of work: productive and practical method, exercises. Modeling situations, conversation, integral method (work in pairs). Work with the textbook and dictionary; reviewing, commenting, studying, familiarizing reading of the text, doing exercises.

participation in the discussion, written assignments, module test.
