PTR 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists in the state and foreign languages, orally and in writing, and use them to organize effective intercultural communication. PTR 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the state and foreign languages.

Full-time form

Have basic skills in reading in English; listening in English; communicating in English; distinguishing between various grammatical constructions and skillfully using them in practice; using lexical tools in oral and written speech.

"Practical Course of a Second Foreign Language (English)" is the main discipline for students studying in the OP "Ukrainian Language and Translation (for Foreigners) (language of instruction is Ukrainian)". The discipline involves studying/repeating the English alphabet, correcting pronunciation (namely: English vowels and consonants, the use of stress in a sentence and word, phonetic assimilations); developing/consolidating English language skills and abilities corresponding to level A1; studying grammatical categories, in particular verb categories of aspect; studying commonly used vocabulary in accordance with the thematic plan; improving reading and listening skills on the material of "live" and imitation of "live" English; equipping students with communicative tools for both understanding oral speech and natural generation of oral speech through interactive tasks, games and exercises for understanding/recognizing/producing the necessary elements of functional speech.
