Learning outcomes
PTR 1. To freely communicate in the Ukrainian and the Russian languages in the
professional sphere with specialists and non-specialists orally and in writing, to use
those languages for effective intercultural communication organisation.
PTR 10. To know the norms of the Ukrainian literary language and be able to apply them in practical activities
PTR 14. To use Ukrainian in verbal and written form, in different genre-style varieties and registers of communication (official, informal, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Proficiency in the Ukrainian language at a level not lower than A 2, which will allow students to understand the teacher's explanations, not only imitate certain phrases they hear, but also engage in communication, properly formatting their own speech.
Course content
Its subject is the phonetic system of the modern Ukrainian literary language. The discipline guides students to familiarize themselves with the sound composition of the modern Ukrainian literary language as a system of interconnected elements, correct the pronunciation of individual sounds and sound combinations, understand and observe sound changes in the speech stream, master the features of Ukrainian accent and intonation, which ultimately should ensure the automation of speech skills, and the awareness of sound-letter correspondences, necessary for the automation of the skills of correct reading (especially aloud) and writing (especially out loud).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms of education: practical classes, independent work.
Problem-situational, reproductive, consciously practical methods. Interactive methods: informational, cognitive, motivational, regulatory; Instructional and practical and consciously practical methods (explanation, observation, analysis of phonetic phenomena and intonation contours). Practical methods of teaching speech. Comparative method (reliance on the articulatory base of the native language, taking into account its interference influence). Methods and technologies aimed at interconnected teaching of speech activities (listening, speaking, reading, writing), ensuring automation of normative speech skills, awareness of sound-letter correspondences: conscious and practical methods.
Assessment methods and criteria
