Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know: 1) the basic principles of analysis and criteria for evaluating the source text, as well as lexical, grammatical, syntactic, and stylistic issues in translation. Be able to: 1) apply the phonetic rules, grammatical structures, and syntactic rules of the Turkish language. Possess: 1) skills in interpreting.
Course content
The course «Fundamentals of Turkish-Ukrainian Simultaneous Interpretation» is part of the educational and professional training program for specialists at the Bachelor’s level in Field of Study 03 «Humanities», Major 035 «Philology», with a specialization in «035.06 Philology (Eastern Languages and Literatures, including translation)». The course focuses primarily on acquiring basic skills and competencies in simultaneous interpretation, developing working memory, auditory comprehension of the Turkish language, and the recording and translation of material. Mastering the techniques of simultaneous interpretation should ensure comprehensive training for Turkish interpreters and contribute to their professional development. The course provides a comprehensive and in-depth study of previously covered Turkic studies disciplines. Throughout the semester, students are encouraged to work collaboratively on the material, which involves mastering teamwork skills and developing a responsible attitude toward the practical implementation of translation activities. The course is taught in the seventh semester and concludes with a final exam.

Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation of semester work: 1. Answer at a practical lesson: 15 - 25 points. 2. Preparation of simultaneous translation of video material: 15 - 25 points. 3. Test work: 9 - 15 points. 4. Creating a draft of a common dictionary: 9 - 15 points. 5. Final control work: 12 - 20 points.
