Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know: 1) the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process; possess basic knowledge in the humanities and social sciences. Be able to: 1) gather and interpret information regarding social phenomena, processes, and events; 2) identify contemporary features of the coexistence of human communities in the context of globalization; 3) plan and evaluate one’s own work; apply interactive and multimedia teaching tools. Possess basic skills: 1) working with humanities texts; 2) critical thinking regarding political, economic, and sociocultural processes, events, and phenomena.
Course content
The discipline "Philosophy" belongs to the list of compulsory disciplines of the university and is taught in the fourth semester of the bachelor's degree. The discipline introduces students to philosophical thought in its historical development and current state, to the fundamental way of comprehending the foundations of human existence, cognition and activity, mediated by the peculiarities of the corresponding socio-cultural era. Provides a holistic view of the specifics of philosophical knowledge, its issues, concepts and categories, and structure. It shows the methodological role of philosophical knowledge in understanding ontological, epistemological, axiological and social problems of life. Introduces the main patterns of development of nature and society and the place of man in the world. The aim of the course is to develop a foundation of basic knowledge, skills, and habits of philosophical thinking necessary for solving complex specialized tasks and practical problems, as well as to create conditions for students to independently reflect on the conditions of existence and development of the natural and social worlds, the forms of culture and cognition, and human nature.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training, which is 40% of the total grade, and the assessment of practical training, which is 60% of the total grade. Assessment of semester work: 1. Oral answers, additions and participation in seminar discussions: 18 - 36 points. 2. Control works: 12 - 16 points. 3. Individual independent work: 6 - 8 points. 4. Exam: 24 - 40 points.
