Course content
The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the basic fundamental principles of theoretical ecology, the principles governing the functioning of ecological systems, the characteristics of the interactions between the biosphere and the technosphere, global and regional environmental issues, and issues related to resources, ecology, and the economy, as well as to ensure that students possess knowledge, in line with modern requirements, regarding the general patterns of the emergence and development of hazards and emergencies - primarily those of a technogenic nature - their characteristics, and their potential impact on human life and health. The required course «Fundamentals of Ecology» is a component of the cycle of fundamental, humanities, and general economic training for specialists. The inclusion of this course in the curriculum is recommended by the University’s Scientific and Methodological Council, as the environmentalization of all spheres of human activity is a universally recognized priority for states and international institutions in the field of higher education. The objectives of the course are aimed at achieving the following graduate competencies (as described in the Educational Program «Turkish Language and Literature and Translation, English Language»): General Competencies (GC) 1:2; 10.
