Course content
The course «Fundamentals of Research in Turkic Linguistics» is one of the components of the comprehensive elective block «Linguistics and Translation» of the 035 program - «Philology», major 035.068 «Philology (Eastern Languages and Literatures (including translation), first language - turkish».
The course covers issues related to the study of the linguistic structure of Turkic languages, as well as general patterns and trends in their development. In analyzing specific linguistic phenomena and processes, Turkology relies on the laws of general linguistics and constantly interacts with such linguistic disciplines as linguistic typology, comparative linguistics, linguistic geography, dialectology, etc. This discipline is a logical continuation of the core courses included in the curriculum for students majoring in Turkology at the Bachelor’s level.
The course is taught through lectures and seminars in Ukrainian and Turkish. It is offered in the first semester of the third year and concludes with a final exam at the end of the course.
