Full-time form

Know: 1) have successfully mastered the specialized subjects during previous semesters; 2) the phonetic rules, general and technical vocabulary, grammatical structures, and syntactic rules of the Turkish language. Be able to: 1) apply acquired skills in practical translation within the scope of the student’s linguistic competence. Possess: 1) skills in oral and written translation, basic skills in cognitive and professional activities; a culture of thinking and its general principles.

The comprehensive course «Translation (Turkish). Part 4. Translation Practice» is included in the list of required components and forms the professional foundation of the comprehensive training of future specialists in the field of study 035 «Philology» (035.68 «Eastern Languages and Literatures (including translation), first—Turkish)». This course is a logical continuation of the courses «Fundamentals of Translation Theory (Eastern Language)» and «Fundamentals of Translation Practice» and is taught in the sixth semester of the bachelor’s program—in accordance with the curriculum of the educational and research program «Turkish Language and Literature and Translation, English Language». Within the scope of the course, undergraduate students develop translation competencies, which involve the accurate reproduction of the full text of the original, taking into account the lexical, grammatical, and stylistic features of both languages. The presentation of the material is concise, straightforward, and focused on maximum practical application. Assignments are supplemented with diverse materials: texts of various thematic, genre, and stylistic orientations. Audio and video materials are used to develop written and oral translation skills. An overview of basic translation transformations is provided, which ensures the development of students’ linguistic and translation competence. The course is taught through practical sessions in Ukrainian and Turkish and concludes with a midterm assessment.
