Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know: 1) the basics of Turkish grammar, lexical fundamentals, and the theoretical foundations of general linguistics and Proto-Turkic. Be able to: 1) successfully complete the courses: «Turkish Language» and «Introduction to Specialized Philology». Possess: 1) skills in conducting discussions when addressing topics from the «Turkish Language» course.
Course content
The discipline «Turkish Language» belongs to the list of compulsory disciplines and is taught in the first semesters of the bachelor's degree, in accordance with the curriculum of the educational and scientific program «Turkish Language and Literature and Translation, English». The discipline develops the main types of speech activities in Turkish: reading, speaking, writing and listening. Students' communicative language competencies are formed: perception and understanding of elementary listening discourse, ability to communicate on topics defined by the program, text comprehension and ability to reproduce what they have read. Students develop writing and reading skills that meet the requirements of a basic level of foreign language proficiency. Students develop the ability to use the theoretical aspect of grammatical material in practical application. The discipline is taught in the form of practical classes. The course ends with a continuous assessment.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes, which accounts for 35% of the total grade, and the assessment of practical training, which accounts for 65% of the total grade. Assessment of semester work: I semester: 1. Reading, listening, writing: 12 - 18 points. 2. Presentations, oral presentations: 12 - 18 points. 3. Final control work (written work; tests): 12 - 14 points.
