Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures; video materials and presentations (Microsoft PowerPoint); abstracts of scientific articles; materials for the course from the website pinax.com.ua. Practical training; independent work (preparation of materials on a given topic); tasks for independent work; tests.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral responses are graded 1-4 points based on the depth of argumentation and source knowledge. The presentation report includes preparation (max. 5) and defense (max. 6), technical quality, logical delivery, and performance. Final works (max. 15 points) consist of tests, open-ended answers, and a visual block. The creative project (18–20 points for high level) involves researching Antiquity in art or personal reflection. The grading scale for all tasks is: high score for full mastery and independence; sufficient for minor inaccuracies; satisfactory for lack of depth; and low for fragmented knowledge and errors. The semester grade (60–100 points) synthesizes in-class performance and independent study, including oral answers, tests, and project defenses. The final assessment is a "Pass," awarded based on cumulative points earned throughout the course. Systematic work and adherence to deadlines, especially for presentations, are essential for successful completion.
