The objective of studying the discipline is to familiarize students with the theoretical and methodological principles of managing the development of tourism and recreation, to form an understanding of the spatial organization of tourism systems and the mechanisms of their functioning at different territorial levels.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the courses: "Human Geography", "Geographical Local and Regional Studies", "Recreational Geography". 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of basic geographical theories and concepts. 3. Knowledge and understanding of the basic spatial-temporal patterns of relationships and relationships in the "man - environment" system.
Course content
The academic discipline is aimed at forming in students a system of theoretical knowledge and seminar training on managing the development of tourism and recreation in the conditions of territorial organization of the economy and spatial planning. The discipline examines the theoretical principles of managing tourist destinations, organizational and managerial mechanisms of their functioning, integration processes and cluster models of development. Considerable attention is paid to spatial analysis of tourist territories, tourist zoning, strategic planning, formation of competitiveness and brand management of destinations.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars.
Assessment methods and criteria
The level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of the survey, practical work, and presentations at seminar classes. The specific weight of learning outcomes in the final assessment, provided that they are mastered at the proper level, is as follows: learning outcomes – 1 (knowledge) – up to 30%; learning outcomes – 2 (skills) – up to 50%; learning outcomes – 3 (communication) – up to 10%; learning outcomes – 4 (autonomy and responsibility) – up to 10%. The final assessment in the form of an exam is carried out in written format. The maximum number of points during the exam is 40, the minimum number of points added to the semester ones is 24 (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for the credit). Based on the results of the semester, the student receives a final grade according to a 100-point system, which is calculated as the sum of the grades for each of the two modules in the semester and the exam grades.
